Zygor Guide Update and Discount

Zygor Guide Update, correct as of 3rd October 2011

Zygor Guides is releasing  3 entirely new World of Warcraft guides that were never offered before.

* Professions & Achievements Guides
* Pets & Mounts Guides
* Titles, Reputations & Macros Guides

I’m excited for these new guides, and I think you’d like them too. They sound like they will be great from the videos Zygor has released on their site.

In addition, they will also be having a limited time discount sale on their two original guides:

* Leveling & Loremaster
* Dailies & Events

The sale will last from Tuesday, October 4th – 11th. They are slashing the prices down by a pretty good chunk. Here’s the discount prices during the sale period:

* Leveling & Loremaster: $30.00 each / $50.00 (both Alliance and Horde)
* Dailies & Events: $25.00 each / $40.00 (both Dailies & Events)

If you’ve ever had your eye on getting yourself some Zygor guides, now is the best time. I’ve never seen Zygor release multiple new products AND offer a discount sale on their older products, so this is pretty rare to see!

Zygor makes great World of Warcraft guides, so don’t miss out on a chance to get them at a cheaper price.

Zygor vs Dugi

As a WoW addict who’s been playing the game for years and years, I’ve seen tons of WoW guides come and go.

Some would last just a few months and fail miserably.

Others were put together a few years ago and are still rocking today with Cataclysm.

Two of those in the latter group are Zygor Guide and Dugi Guide. They’ve both been around for a while now, and probably aren’t going away anytime soon.

Since they’re both good guides, I meet a lot of people who have trouble deciding between Zygor vs Dugi. They know that both work well, but just can’t make a decision.

Let’s compare a few aspects of each to get a better feel for which might be for you.

Software and Installation

As you probably know, these guides both include software that you install on your computer. It’s a very small and fairly simple one, so don’t worry about it slowing down your computer or anything.

Both guides are very lightweight and fairly easy to install. If you have the technical skills to install WoW, you have the tech skills to install these guides also.

If I had to say that one was easier than the other, I’d say Zygor’s Guides are a bit easier to install but not much easier.

Quest Waypoint Arrow

Both guides have a small arrow that points you to where you have to go for your next quest in-game. To be honest the only difference here is aesthetics- Dugi’s arrow is a small red one that has the quest objective right under it. Zygor Guide has a small white, sharper arrow that has the end destination shown under it.

In this aspect, I think Dugi Guide is a bit clearer. Both guides tell you exactly where you have to go and what you have to do. Dugi makes it a bit easier to see without having to open up other parts of the guide, but that’s it.

Sync with RAF, Pre-leveled Characters, Dungeons, and Heirloom Items

If you read the website of both guides, you’ll find that they say their guide is the only one that syncs with these aspects of the game.

Go figure- I’m not sure how each can be “the only one”, but that’s okay.

Basically, it’s convenient that both guides sync in with these parts of the game. We all know that these features make the game a bit more fun, allow you to make tons of money, etc.

Also if you purchase either guide after playing for a while, you don’t have to worry about completely starting over. You can just pick up wherever your pre-leveled character has to go next.

Again both guides work here, but I think Zygor is a little better at getting you back in the action quickly.

Extra Guides and Sections

In my opinion, this is really where you start to see the differences between Zygor Guide and Dugi Guide. They both have a few extra guides in addition to the leveling portion, so this is what makes each stand out a bit.

Dugi Guides comes with Loremaster, Dungeons, Dailies, Events, Achievements, and Professions guides. Obviously this is a lot of information to learn or look up yourself, so having it all in one place in-game is very convenient.

The interface to use these guides is pretty straightforward. There’s a menu in Dugi Guide with titles on the side for each guide. Just click the section you want and you start reading that portion.

Zygor has a bit more, and that’s why I recommend their Guide instead. Right now Zygor has a Death Knight, Loremaster, Archaeology, Guild Leveling, Inscription, Gold, Food and Drinks, Dailies, and Events guides.

Besides just having more content, I also think that they did a better job with the Loremaster and Dailies guides than Dugi did.

Conclusion

These are both great leveling guides, and the fact that they have a lot of other information is great as well.

At the end of the day though, I can only give one as a top choice. My main recommendation is Zygor Guide over Dugi Guide because they’re better and there’s just a lot more helpful content.
